Friendly

Rory keeps us laughing everyday! Lately, she has been having what I think is stranger anxiety. She will say hi to people at the store, but then as soon as they say hi back, she yells "no!". She also doesn't like people looking at her either. She'll grunt if they do. So I've been asking her if she is shy. Today at the grocery store everytime she would see a kid, she would say "Be shy!" She tries to say "friendly" too.

Bogey

Rory has always loved Bogey, the toy poodle. The feeling is mutual. In fact, Bogey is very protective of Rory and I. He growls at Sammy all the time. If Rory wakes up crying, he'll stand outside her room and growl at Sammy.

Lately, she has been even more attached to him. She gets the most excited about seeing him in the morning when she wakes up. The other morning we went in there to get her up, and she leans over the crib to pet Bogey, and says "oh, Hi Bogey, how sleep?" Then after nap time, he and I go in to her room, and she says "hi, Bogey, wsup?"

She wants him to follow her everywhere. She'll say "Come'on Bogey." Just in the last couple of days, she has been calling him "Bogay"-not sure why.

We are very lucky in that he puts up with all the pulling and tugging she does to him. He usually just lays there and puts up with it. She likes to lift up his lips and check out his teeth. And she tries very hard to pick him up and "hold you, Bogey."

She repeats exactly what we tell him. Whenever he barks, she says "Hush" or "be quiet!" I have had to be careful because sometimes I tell him to "shut up". A couple of times in the car when the music is on and maybe she doesn't like it or I'm singing, she says "Shut up Momma." Uh-oh. I guess there are worse things she could be repeating. I know there are worse words that slip out of our mouths!!
I need to be better about writing things down. Rory does something that amazes us everyday and I would love to have it all written down so she can go back and read it. Also, it would be great to see how her personality is evolving even as such a little person.
