Rory's First Field Trip

Rory had her first field trip on Thursday and I got to chaperone. We went to Zilker Park to eat lunch and play and then headed over to the Paramount Theater for an Eric Carle puppet show. Rory was pretty excited about riding the bus. Colton was her "buddy", surprise! She did complain on the way home that there wasn't any soft spots on the bus to take a nap.

Halloween

Rory was a pro this year and took off, leaving Payton and I in her dust. The Rapunzel hair didn't last long. Payton was pretty good going up to the doors. Didn't quite say Trick or Treat, but would say Thank you. She was ok until she saw a man walking around dresses up in a full gorilla suit. From then on she wanted me to hold her until we would get close to a door. "Sca ry monkey!" I kept trying to tell her it was a just a silly dad dressed up, but it made a pretty big impression on her. When we walked up to our house, Sammy was sitting outside amid smoke and scary music, much more scary than a gorilla, and she didn't even flinch. Go figure! Rory enjoyed handing the rest of the candy out.

Rory's 1st Nine Weeks Awards Ceremony

This was Rory's first awards ceremony. They have them every nine weeks.

Payton's Halloween Parade

Payton had her Halloween parade and carnival at her preschool today. She kept her Minnie ears on! She did well walking in the parade. I thought she might get upset if she saw me. After the parade, they had a little carnival in the parish hall. There were little games and she got her face painted. She had a good time and went back to her classroom without being upset that I was leaving. Her little friend Brooke was also Minnie Mouse.

Rory got to wear her costume to dance class today....here it is...

Teravista Fall Fair

This weekend we went to the Fall Fair at Rory's school. We had a good time. The girls rode several rides. Rory got a feather put in her hair and then of course Payton wanted one too. A testament to their personalities....Rory wanted to take hers out as soon as we got home and Payton still has hers in several days later.
