Painting

Fair or unfair, I compare the girls. Rory set a high standard. They are different in a lot of ways, so I expected them to be different in all ways. Rory is caution, Payton is daring and will try anything. But they are both very particular about things. Payton could not stand getting painting on her leg. Once she did, she was done.

Payton's 1st official haircut

Payton started off with a good amount of hair. Sammy has trimmed it once or twice early on, but decided we should take her in and get a real haircut. I just remember with Rory that after we cut it the first time, it looks so much fuller and thicker just cutting those ends off. I remember having the thought, I should have done this sooner. So, Rory needed a haircut and so Payton too! Payton went first. I was anticipating a similar reaction Rory had-tears. Payton is even more of a momma's girl, so I thought as soon as I placed her in the chair there were be tears and reaching for me. Nope! Nothing! She did great. Rory entertained her. She followed direction pretty well!

Snow!!

We got some snow last night. Rory had been asking for it. She was under the impresssion that it couldn't be winter until we had snow. Sammy and I were both awake around 445am and he was wanting to wake up Rory to tell her about the snow. No way! So, he went to work so he could come home and play with the girls. The snow was fairly sparse in the yard, so we drove around the neighborhood and found a good amount in the parking lot of the new daycare. We attempted a snowman, but the snow was very powdery that it would take a lot of work and packing to get it to stay. The girls really enjoyed it! A couple of us got pelted with snowballs. Rory had been wanting to have a snowball fight, well I threw one at her and it hit her chin...bad move Mom! Tears! Then later Sammy tried to defend his daughter's honor and got me back good...you can hear it in the video. In just the hour we were there playing, a lot of the snow on the street was melting and by late afternoon most of it was gone. So glad Sammy went in early and came home when he did!
