I want to try and make a point to take "special" pictures of the girls every summer around their birthdays. We just did family pictures with Mariah, so I decide to just take some myself. We borrowed Uncle Kyle's great camera. Rory still thinks it's great to be "twins" with Patyon so I am going to put them in matching outfits as long as I can. It's challenging to get both to look at the camera at the same time by myself. Rory's into doing "poses". Payton just wants to move. They are starting to look more and more alike. We were in Walmart yesterday in the bathroom and a lady walked and saw Payton and said how cute. Then Rory turned around and she said "wow, spitting image, the little one just needs a little longer hair and they'd look like twins."

Payton's cabinet
>
Payton is into everything these days. Everything she is not suppose to! I decided to let her play in the tupperware cabinet to keep her occupied when I am in the kitchen. She LOVES it and I end up cleaning up the bowls and cups at least three times a day! She has also been into pushing the buttons on the TV receiver and has even pulled a knob off. I have disciplined her several times-spanking her hand and putting her in her crib-but it doesn't seem to phase her. She right back standing up trying to push the buttons-every chance she gets. Very persistent!!
Payton loves the vacuum

Rory's 4th birthday
We had Rory's 4th birthday party this weekend at the house. We had about 7 kids, most of them from her preschool. We had pizza and cupcakes. We did sandart with the kids and they really seemed to like it. She got a lot of great presents from her friends and had tons of presents from all the grandparents(surprise, surprise!). Rory is very proud to be 4!

Ice Cream Man
Last night, we were preparing for our movie night. Rory gets a 'snack pack'--a bowl of popcorn in which Daddy adds treats, pretzels, cheezits, M&Ms, Reeses Pieces. Sneaky little girl was digging in the bottom and eating all the M&Ms. Well, I thought I heard the ice cream man. I went outside and didn't see him. Went back inside and Sammy spouted off his route and told me to go back out because he'd be back around. So, Rory and I walked around a little bit and then we saw him. This was the first time she had seen the ice cream man. There were lots of choices and she looked sheepishly at me and shrugged her shoulders because she couldn't decide. She finally decided on a watermelon bomb pop. She was very excited. As we walked in through the front she door announced that it was "the best day ever!"

NO snacks left
I haven't been to HEB in a couple of weeks because we went to Port A and were waiting till we got back to get groceries. Yesterday, we got up from naps and I was nursing Payton in her room. Rory left the room and I could hear her in the kitchen. I heard the pantry door open and close and then I heard the refridgerator open and close. Then she comes into Payton's room, almost in tears, holding a two slivers of Triscuit cracker remains and says, "Mom, this is ALL we have left to eat..." Very Rory and very dramatic, of course!

Port A
We made our first trip of the season the Port A. Payton's first trip to the beach. We had a good time. Sand EVERYWHERE!! Rory was a little whiny about the sand. Mostly impatient because she was dying to get into the water and Sammy was busy trying to put up the tarp. She loves the water and the waves. Payton enjoyed the sand on her toes and the waves. She didn't get pictures of her in the water because I decide I should take in some of these moments for what they are instead of trying to always catch them on camera. We didn't make it back to the beach a second time because hurricane Alex was on his way.
