Payton and a windmill

Payton noticed a windmill today. Just yesterday we went driving so she could see some cows. Today on the way to Hoppin Hippo, she pointed and make a noise. Rory and I looked and it was a windmill, so....another one in the car to play the windmill game!

Rory's reading

On Wednesday at school, Ms. Linda, Rory's teacher from last year, came to help out her class. She was pulled out by herself to work with Ms. Linda on her reading. She read a simple book, Mat Sat. She is doing really well recognizing words and sounding them out. Mom gave her a couple of Beginner readers for Christmas and she can read both of them with very minimal help on the bigger words. We are very proud of her!

Corny story--but when I went to tour Rory's preschool before I put her in at two, the director took me around to look in at the classrooms. When we got to the four-year old classroom, she mentioned that every year they usually have a couple of kids who are reading before they move onto kinder. I said to myself, that I wanted Rory to be one of the kiddos. With a little help from me and Sammy, and with Rory's natural ability, she is one! yay!
