Payton's Meet the Teacher Night

We went to Grace Episcopal tonight for Payton's meet the teacher. Ms. Lori is going to be her teacher. She marched down the hall like usual from last year taking Rory to school. She was a little hesistant when we turned left instead of right. Ms. Lori bent down to talk to her and she immediately did the laughing, scrunched up nose face and says "Rory." She does that when she feels on the spot. Then she went to playing. Rory was helping her look around the room. They colored first and then she attacked the kitchen. She was having a great time. No pacifier! She was a little mean sharing/not sharing an apple and a chair with one little girl. When I told her it was time to go, she told me "No way Momma!" We finally got out of there without too much fuss, I felt totally like my parenting/control of Payton was on display for the teacher. She sat in the little chairs in the hallway with Rory, "sit, Momma!" Then I had to chase her down the hallway. She stopped at water fountain as usual and with the stool, she could reach the water. We played on the playground and alleviated some of my anxiety that she could climb pretty easily and I don't think will fall, knock on wood! There was a little boy out there that was 3 and he was chatty with Rory and Payton. Rory was a little denfensive with him. She said he called her sir. She marched up to him and said "Oh yeah, you are a big fat bluebird." That's my girl!! On the way home, Rory was talking about how mean he was and I tried to talk about how it was just words and that he didn't got to her school so she didn't need to worry about him. Well, "what if he is mean to Payton? He goes to her school." I told her that Payton would probably just yelled at him like she does at Rory when she doesn't like something and walk away. So, she is worry about her like me! Tuesday is the big day, so we will see who sheds more tears, me or Payton. Probably me, but I still worry....=)
