So Payton's on the fast track course to eating solid foods. We started with oatmeal cereal at 5 and half months and then did veggies and fruits from there. She really liked green beans. I remember being so precise with Rory following all the recommendations. Well, Payton isn't interested in waiting to follow any guidelines. She doesn't want to be eating liquidy food when the rest of us are eating more interesting stuff. She loves the Gerber puffs--grabbing them by the handful and shoving as many as she can in her mouth. Today her lunch consists of tuna, cheese, and green beans. She seems to be enjoying it. Most of it for her is being able to feed herself. She's got two teeth on the bottom that have broken through the skin and you can just barely see them. I can't seem to get a good picture. She is still nursing very well, but many time would much rather see what Rory is doing or see what Bogey is doing rather than nurse. Hard to believe that we are closing in on a year old and that it's almost time to be done nursing. Not sure if I'm ready to give it up. Feel like I worked so hard to get here. We'll see how long she is interested in it and go from there. There are pros and cons to stopping--sleeping all way through the night.... I'm started to pump more now because Sammy said she doesn't seem to like the formula as much when I got to work and I never built up a supply.
We have been working on signing. She did the sign for night-night the other day, but when I put her in bed, she cried, of course. She pats our shoulder when she wants to eat and has done that for a while. And beats on the highchair tray for more.
She adores Rory more than anything! She lights up when ever she sees her and looks around when we say Rory's name...even know to look toward her room. Probably have another smarty on own hands. She's different though--very grabby and adventurous. Rory was more timid.
She is almost at a full crawl. She'll take two or three crawls. She does have her own method of getting around from sitting up to a little crawl and then sitting up again.
